Folio (520 by 340mm), decorative engraved title by Gerard de Lairesse, two manuscript index leaves, ornate engraved frontispiece to "Duytslant", and 172 double-page engraved maps with FINE ORIGINAL HAND-COLOUR HEIGHTENED IN GOLD, each map with small decorative stencil number slip pasted to verso, "Cathedral-style" nineteenth-century calf by "J. H. Peters, Amsterdam", richly decorated in gilt and blind, spine in compartments, lettered in gilt.

A magnificent composite atlas with wonderful original rich colour heavily embellished in oil and gold.
Of note is the inclusion of Mortier's impressive chart of the Mediterranean, with its beautifully rendered floral garlands and the 38 vignettes of Mediterranean cities.
In addition to these, and the maps by Visscher are 27 by F. De Wit, 26 of J. Blaeu, 7 by J. Janssonius, three by C. Allard, two by H. Jaillot, and one each by G. Valck, G. Mercator, J....
